Have you ever thought who’s watching us when we’re up there flying enjoying the day when we’re outside the terminal area, who’s providing that flight following? It’s the Air Route Traffic Control Center, ARTCC! ARTCC is a facility that provides air traffic control service to aircraft operating on instrument rules and VFR flight planning within controlled airspace, primarily during the en route phase of flights. The centers are also responsible for issuing IFR clearances and monitoring IFR flights nationwide.

ARTCC handle safety, and efficient moving of aircraft between airports.
