Welcome to the Colorado Pilots Association Fly-in page for 2026! If you have a nose for adventure, a love of aviation or just a burning desire to fly to new locations and make new aviation friends, you’ve come to the right place.
The 2025 events are now history but on January 10 at 8:30 in the upstairs meeting room of the BJC terminal building, we’ll set the schedule for this year’s adventures. About February 1 on this very page, we’ll be rolling out the entire slate of Fly-ins for the year.
We have nearby fly-ins, far away ones and one-day, two-day and three-day weekend trips for all levels of pilots, aircraft owners and aircraft renters. We even make provisions for those without an airplane! Past destinations range from larger venues like Kansas City to smaller ones like Huntington, Utah and everywhere in between – and beyond. Aircraft types range from light sport to twin turboprops with the largest number being the ubiquitous singles, including homebuilts. Our members live all over the country although most are here in Colorado. And if you are not involved with us yet, joining CPA is the best $30 bargain in aviation!
All trips are planned by our fellow members who donate their time, enthusiasm and effort to make each Fly-in possible. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a museum browser, hiker, river rafter, mountain biker, horseback rider or even a beer connoisseur, as we almost always include a group dinner preceded by happy hour. It’s all there for you! Event registration fees cover common costs that benefit everyone, like rental cars, but this is not a money maker for the Association. We keep costs in check, so events are affordable - breaking even is our goal. Registering for any event places you on a list of attendees who then receive all needed information. It is very much a turnkey operation.
Each year members meet in early to mid-January to assemble our Fly-in schedule. Because we live all over everywhere, members frequently come up with new places to visit. But because we’ve been doing this for so long, even revisiting prior destinations appeals to new members or existing ones who could not make a previous event.
There’s no better way to expand and improve your piloting skills than flying trips. And traveling with a group ensures plenty of support in the event of an airplane maintenance problem. We have everyone from student pilots to multi-thousand-hour airline ATPs, former military pilots, A&P mechanics and flight instructors in our group. Our tent is very large, so whatever your flying experience or background, you’re welcome. You will be surrounded by fellow aviators who are “oh, so nice” and will treat you like long-lost friends.
Come into the CPA and join one or more of our Fly-ins this year. If you want to first stick your toe in the water to see how it feels, our one-day trips are easy to attend and inexpensive. You’ll be talking about the fun you had for a long time and eagerly anticipating the next one.
Check this site again in early February for this year’s schedule. You’ll love it!
